Lease Addendum for Pet Ownership and Relocation

Lease Provisions

  • Draft a provision whereby your pet dog can reside in the apartment under the above conditions.
  • Draft a provision whereby you are released from the lease under the above conditions.

Addendum to the Leasing Contract: This document proposes amendments to the existing leasing contract, including pet ownership and job relocation provisions.

My current lease agreement is for a monthly rent of $850.00 with a $1,000.00 security deposit. As per the current agreement, no pets are allowed. However, I am a responsible pet owner with a perfect credit score and stable employment. I propose an addendum to accept the following provisions: I have a small, well-trained 35-pound pet under my care. Despite being 10 pounds above the weight limit, I am willing to pay an additional $50.00 per month and a $500.00 pet deposit as a provision in the lease for accepting my pet. I will provide the leasing office with the dog’s vaccination records upon receiving approval. The dog is always on a leash, and I can provide additional renter’s insurance to cover my pet.

Additionally, my job may require me to relocate more than fifty miles away from my apartment, which would necessitate breaking the lease. In this case, my employer will provide the leasing office with a letter from John Doe to vacate apartment 1B, including a moving time frame. Moreover, the employer will pay a set fee of $1,500.00, which includes my security deposit of $1,000.00, which the leasing office can retain. I sincerely appreciate your consideration of these provisions and look forward to your response.
