Real talk from a student perspective COVID-19!

As a student here at Ivy Tech Community College, it has been a joy; for my first term, I have met excellent facilities and a few professors (which has been a great experience) and a few other students in the class.  With our current pandemic has brought a lot of changes. Being my first term adjusting to the college environment has its challenges in itself. Now, learning online is a curve lesson by using zoom and working with the tutor department, sometimes you have to deal with the computer glitches, the internet issues, and many other variables that can cause frustration with your stress level increasing, yet adding COVID-19.

Giving the circumstances, we have to find a way to work around or through the present times.  The critical elements for success are finding what will comfort you by decreasing your stress levels, working together with your professors by having strong communication skills, implementing organizational skills, and being able to adjust your task accordingly daily.  We are in this together as we all have the same end goal to graduate to obtain our degree or certificate.

If there is one thought I can leave for you to think about: Staying focus on your goals, have secure communication with professors and faculties, network with other students, be adaptable to changes when needed, and managing your stress levels is everything.

Enjoy your journey.  I wish everyone the best of endeavors and a lot of success!
